Use Phonological awareness: to learn to read, children need to become aware that a word is made up of sounds, and that a sound corresponds to a letter. This is called phonological awareness.

So, from the age of 2, you can play a lot of sound games with children, which consist in having them listen to the sound that starts the word (also known as the attack sound), like the m in mummy, or the s in snake, etc.

With this "cabinet of sounds", it will be very easy to play sound games by saying to the child: "what is the sound you hear at the beginning of butterfly?", for example.

On each drawer, a letter of the alphabet is written in blue for vowels and red for consonants. In this way, children effortlessly absorb the notion of vowels and consonants.

In each drawer is an object whose first letter sound corresponds to the letter stuck on the drawer.

It's very important to play lots of these games with your child, as they will make it easier for him or her to learn to read.

We offer a downloadable list of letters with their sound and corresponding object.

Additional items can be added to each drawer.

The children are delighted to work with these cabinets.
