When two passions meet around Montessori materials and furniture

Art Montessori is the story of a meeting between two passions: that of Sylvie d'Esclaibes for Montessori pedagogy and Joël Philippin for cabinetmaking. Together, they founded the Athéna Montessori schools. They then drew on their dual expertise to design Montessori furniture for early childhood. Art Montessori was born.

To equip a Nido, a learning space designed by Maria Montessori and suitable for babies from 3 months to walking age, we offer :

The Montessori Nido is not just reserved for nurseries and kindergartens. It can also be found in the homes of parents and childminders.

Supporting the development of independence with adapted Montessori furniture

Around 18 months, the tower of learning will delight your child. Hoisted up to worktop height, it can accompany the adult in everyday tasks, particularly in the kitchen.

To further develop its autonomy, a closet and a vanity unit will be able to equip his room to offer him a suitable environment.

A magnificent library to highlight the book covers will delight children's curiosity. A chair or bench seat at her height, inviting her to take hold of the books and consult them.

Visit shelves with 2 or 3 levels will accommodate new practical and sensory activities linked to the child's development. The furniture evolves with the child, always with a view to :

  • accompany his exploration of the world around him;
  • freedom of choice;
  • his self-confidence.

By observing the child, the adult can follow his or her learning momentum and adapt the environment accordingly. The same applies to motor structures, which facilitate :

  • learning to walk;
  • improving balance;
  • muscle tone and general motor skills.

These motor structures are perfectly suited to the free-motor approach advocated by Emmi Pickler.
