The motives were carefully studied by Maria Montessori and the people who worked with her.
There are 4 Montessori mobiles that can be installed one at a time in this order:
1 - Munari's mobile is composed of flat geometric shapes in black and white and a transparent sphere that reflects the light.
2 - The octahedron mobile is composed of three octahedrons of paper colored with the three primary colors, blue, red and yellow.
3 - The Gobbi mobile is composed of five woven balls of the same colour in shades hanging in ascending order from dark to light.
4 - The dancers' mobile is composed of stylized figures made of colored metallic paper.

Munari's mobile can remain in place from birth until the baby is five weeks old. Then the other mobiles are introduced one by one about every two weeks. Once all the mobiles have been offered to the child, they are changed every two weeks to prevent the baby from getting tired. The Montessori mobiles should be hung low enough so that the baby's hands can touch them. They allow him to understand that by this gesture he has an impact on his environment, which will help develop his intelligence.
The four mobiles should be put in place as soon as the baby is born to help stimulate the baby's vision and concentration. It's great to see the joy these mobiles bring to the toddler.
